"The List" is a place where anyone can place an ad or a notice - provided the ad does not include any offensive content.
To contact someone who places an ad, bulletin or notice, you can use their email (if provided) or you can use the List Contactor. The List Contactor will send a message just like email to the persons you wish to contact. The message will contain only the information you provide. Technically only the message part of the List Contactor needs to be filled out. The rest of the List Contactor is optional and is provided for the convenience of those who wish to avail themselves of it.
The message you send can be viewed only by the owners of the ad you wish to contact. Your message is not available to the general public. Therefore, if you wish, you may include a return address, or a return email address, where placers of the ad can contact you.
Please note: Although your ad cannot normally be viewed by anyone but those you wish to contact, there is a retrieval function which allows law enforcement and other government agencies access to these mesages (if a valid warrent is submitted). Also since no retrival function is perfectly safe, there is always the possibility(though we try hard to prevent it) that hackers may obtain these messages. For these reasons, you may want to watch what you say in these messages
